Review of Wild at Heart (1990) by Justin M — 23 Oct 2009
In my opinion, there are two good scenes in this movie. The Willem DeFoe scene and the car crash scene. The rest of it is kind of absurd and well, hacky, especially if you've read the book (which is mostly just conversations in the vein of Before Sunset).
It seems like Lynch couldn't handle that and throws in bizarre subplots about an underground mob organization and turns the mother into a raging psycho. Why? I can't figure it out. Its an interesting take but its ultimately meaningless, plus he tacks a happy ending on.
Left a bad taste in my mouth.
