Review of Wild at Heart (1990) by Brandon S — 01 Sep 2010
One David Lynch's best films was a major festival winner back in 1990 when it was released, still holds all of the energy it did back then. A mother will stop at nothing to keep a young man away from her daughter even if it means having him killed, the young man on the other hand will not be taken out easily so the ante keeps getting raised as the young lovers try to make a break for it.
Wild At Heart is truely a road movie that is completely jammed packed with all the weirdness that you'd expect from Lynch. Great job from Cage in the role that was meant for him and good support from Dern as the nymphomaniac girlfriend, the rest of the cast is great as well with a scary looking Dafoe as Bobby Peru.
