Reese nails it! A beautiful and profound movie. I loved the book, and the movie didn't disappoint. Even a lovely little tribute to Jerry Garcia.This movie reminds me so much of myself way back when.

I was fearless and naive, just like Ms. Strayed. I took off solo for the jungles of Sumatra, etc., and moved my daughter to a very wild place when she was 4. I'm back at that wild place, 10 miles from one of the most remote places on the Pacific Crest Trail.

I always pick up the hikers who catch a ride to Etna, CA for a rest and to stock up on supplies.i can watch this movie over and over again. You go, girl!
