Review of Wild (2014) by Mark T — 16 May 2015
This film is a hard gut shot. Reese Witherspoon initially seems implausible for this role, but quickly earns her place. I had to stop this film 10 times just to get through it on an emotional level. The number of bad decisions she makes and terrible things life throws at this girl, causing her to take this impossibly long and dangerous hike, would be reason enough for no one to ever try doing this.
Catharsis or not. This is an inspiring take of solitude filled with great literary quotes and a deep cut soundtrack. #GirlPower.
