Review of Wild (2014) by Sanity Assassin ! — 18 Oct 2015
Initially simply reese witherspoon walking lots, flashbacks of slagging it and shooting up, with the exception of the best scene (the toenail removal and screaming at losing a trainer bit) of the movie.
it does improve, but as it may seem a little convoluted at first, and the aforementioned most memorable part's at the very beginning, some audience members may progressively lose interest. however as the back story to the walk thickens out a bit it does provide much needed depth in the form of her mothers character played by laura dern.
without that, as the people she meets along the way aren't interesting or cathartic in any way, it could've been as exciting as footage of a long walk... essentially it's about a mother daughter relationship and it above average albeit not amazing or even that solid.
