Review of Wild (2014) by Simon T — 10 Dec 2016
A movie so weighted with its own misplaced sense of importance that it soon becomes indigestible, despite a creditable performance by Reese Witherspoon. The direction is all Nicolas Roeg via Terrence Malick, with platitudinous poems and mumbly voice-over and Paul Simon echoing repeatedly as we get yet another irritating flashback.
Think what Werner Herzog would have conjured from such material.
