It's fair to say that Todd Solondz movies are not for everyone. Wiener Dog is Solondz 'lite' compared to his other more misanthropic films however, and there are even moments of tenderness in the four stories that make up the whole.
It's still no picnic though and the ending will certainly divide audiences.
