Review of Wicker Park (2004) by Charlene & — 06 Aug 2009
I was very impressed with this film and the ending even gave it a little extra bump in my rating. It is a suspenseful romantic thriller with a little touch of Hitchock, but it worked for me. It stars Josh Harnett and is directed by the same director of Lucky Number Slevin (the reason I picked this movie to watch) and I think both of this movies are very solid underrated movies in my opinion.
The beginning is a little slow and confusing, but when it starts to make sense you are just along for the ride and the many twists this story takes. The acting is pretty solid, but the directing is top notch and makes all the different view points and different timelines work and make sense.
The music was very good at times, and the Coldplay song at the end worked. Overall another film that really surprised me and mixed genres that don't usually go together.
