Review of Wicker Park (2004) by Emma E — 20 Jun 2008
I remember seeing this movie at the cinema and enjoying it a lot, even if the person I saw it with wasn't so impressed. Because of the many interesting twists and turns which the movie takes I was unsure how I would feel about it once I rewatched it, would it have lost it's appeal knowing what was actually going on etc? Well, I have to say I have just rewatched it and feel quite exhilarated.
The movie has lost none of the tension or the edge of the seat drama about it. It's a thriller yes, but one without car chases or guns, this is a thriller about matters of the heart, about love and about obssession.
The performances are amazing, especially Rose Bryne, the filming technique is original and adds so much to the whole experience and the soundtrack is spot on. If you haven't seen this movie you simply MUST!
