Review of Wicker Park (2004) by Ivy L — 11 May 2009
Josh hartnett looks edible. and I was kind of in the mood for a tortuous but ultimately cliched chick-flick ending (imo, the movie's hugest weakness was this need to wrap the ending up with a bow on top. it's a tad artless).
But otherwise, the film is gorgeous. mirrors, split screens, non-linearity, and fucking-with-your-mind-perspective(s), and on top of the visuals, the portrayal of spiraling obsession/love/desire, and the watching, reflections upon reflections of self and surfaces.
