Review of Wicked Little Things (2006) by Joe J — 24 Aug 2007
In homage to the throwback children killer movies of old (Village of the Damned, Children of the Corn), director J.S. Cardone re-vitalizes a long dead subgenre of horror.
Whree nowadays it is taboo to make a movie where children are killers, Wicked Little Things centers around these children not as real-life children, but restless spirits of children who were brutally killed in a mining accident in 1913. These spirits wander the woods at night in search for revenge against the owner (and his descendants) of the mine where they were killed.
Original in the fact that these zombie children don't target random people, and yet supplying the generic lores of horror (darkness, woods, old creaky house, etc.), Wicked Little Things is something any true horror movie fan should see.
