Review of Why We Fight (2005) by Justin D — 27 May 2007
This is an incredible film and one of the best documentaries ever made in my view. It gives a very thorough account of the military-industrial buildup from WWII to the current war in Iraq. The film's thesis involves president Eisenhower's farewell address to the nation warning of military restraint, a buildup he saw coming, and his foresight of a president who would one day sit in the Whitehouse who knew far less about the military than he as a 4 star general did.
This film covers an enormous range and features numerous politicians, soldiers, ordinary people, historical figures, and other examples. Very highest recommendations.
