Review of Why We Fight (2005) by Lucia S — 05 Nov 2007
This is a very very well put together documentary that throws so much information at you that just watching it once isn't enough. I respect the people behind this project because they present facts and (at least from my perspective) don't mash them up to fit anyone specific's agenda.
It seems to be fairly objective in analyzing what the title state: why we fight. Perhaps the most heart-wrenching moment is how the American people as a whole were willingly deceived by the government who used 9/11 to exploit their feelings of anger and revenge.
Regards of how terrible and ruthless Sadaam Hussein was (which I am not disputing) it was no legitimate justification for invading Iraq. Anyone who argues that this simple point is unpatriotic is simply following through with what the "military-industrial complex" hope for: Blind obedience.
Excellent piece of work. Disturbing but honest.
