Review of Why We Fight (2005) by Dan B — 27 Sep 2008
First things first, what happened to the John McCain that appeared in this movie? Bashing the cronyism of the military industrial complex and its relationship to Congress and big business? Wow?? He bashed Halliburton and called for an investigation to how they got all their contracts??? Who is this guy??? The new McCain must be some brainwashed clone of the old McCain.
This movie is certainly not as well made as 'Fog of War' and it isn't as funny as some of the Michael Moore movies. But, it gets to the core of one of the major problems with U.S. "democracy." Our society seems to think it is a good idea to spend literally around a trillion dollars a year on the defense budget. As a film this documentary is simply not organized well-enough to effectively deal with such a huge question.
