Review of Why Do Fools Fall In Love (1998) by Sarfaraz A — 25 Jan 2011
This movie is a mess. Artistic license is one thing, but this film re-writes history. The film version of the how's and why's of Frankie's death is pure fiction. Worse, it fails to tell the real story of how he became addicted, the real story of how his recording career was sent straight downhill due to his voice changing and breakup with the Teenagers.
The film is only tolerable because it uses original recordings and Larenz Tate's performance is terrific.
