Review of Who's That Knocking at My Door (1968) by Zach M — 06 Jan 2008
I've seen this called a dry run for Mean Streets, but I found the style so different, even if some themes reappear in Mean Streets. With snatches of brilliance and invigoration, it also had meandering, over done bits like Keitel and his friends prolonged cackling.
Nonetheless, Scorsese fans will appreciate it's energy, and the flurry of imagery at the end did highlight to me the confusion of Catholic indoctrination. (I seem to have some heavy on the Catholicism flicks in the DVD player or late.
