Review of Who's Harry Crumb? (1989) by Lawrence W — 05 Apr 2012
John Candy described to David Letterman that making this movie was a fresh hell for him as most of what he wanted to do was overruled and changed on the cutting room floor. Candy and Jeffrey Jones don't share much chemistry together as antagonists.
In fact, the character of Eliot Draisen might just be one of the worst things about this film. Although he hires Crumb because of his incompetence, Draisen proves to be completely witless as a foil (and as a villain).
Candy is charming as he always was though, but don't expect much from this movie.
