Review of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966) by Artur Q — 19 Jul 2008
This film has some of the best dialogue I have ever heard in a film or play. Burton and Taylor are both outstanding, their repartee is so well done you could easily enjoy this movie blindfolded. The cinematography is brilliant as well though, so you wouldn't want to.
The story is labyrinthine, only really tying together in the last scene of the movie. Like the the young couple that gets trapped in the vicious game of the hosts, we only figure out what's really happening once it's time to leave.
I cannot recommend this movie enough, other than saying that if you enjoy movies at all, you need to see it.
