Review of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966) by Cohen S — 24 May 2009
Visually stunning. Burton and Taylor are perfect as the essential anti-couple. The film is a horrifying look at a violent and extreme marriage that toys with the concepts of reality and illusion. Perhaps most artful is the camera's tendency to flit in and out of focus in recreation of the drunken stupor that fills the film.
Wonderful.
