Review of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966) by Daryl K — 18 Jun 2012
I can't decide if Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? should be shown to every newlywed couple to put the fear of God into them, or if no recently-married should ever see it, lest it permanently ruin their outlook on life.
At any rate, this is a deeply cynical, brilliantly acted horror show, that pushed every possible taboo back in the day. My only issue is the stagey aspect, where characters come off less like real people and more like the author's mouthpieces.
Still, it packs a punch.
