Review of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966) by Luke H — 08 Apr 2013
You'll get infuriated (or in my case, a splitting headache) by all the quarreling and yet you love it because it's brilliantly written and powerfully acted. Mike Nichols' direction in his debut is simply sublime, as are all the technical attributes: B & W Cinematography, Art Direction, Music.
.. blah blah blah. And let's not forget it was a landmark in its time for the sexual innuendos and breaking some language codes. A very draining 131 minutes, but a truly great film, although one which I probably wouldn't wish to ever see again (I'll hardly forget it, though).
