Review of Who Saw Her Die? (1972) by Owen O — 21 Nov 2007
Efficient and serviceable giallo but certainly not great. The score by Ennio Morricone is the most memorable aspect of the film... in fact, I would go as far as to say it's one of the best he's ever composed.
In addition, the atmosphere is rich and textured - very reminiscent to Nicolas Roeg's "Don't Look Now". However, the plotting is practically non-existent with the killer's identity coming out of left field (no clues are established to make the culprit guessable).
The film is all style and no substance, causing it to be hollow and unsatisfactory. However, the film is recommended for Morricone's score alone.
