Review of Who Killed the Electric Car? (2006) by Ben D — 24 Nov 2007
I experienced something extremely disturbing recently: I saw the documentary "Who Killed The Electric Car?".
ANYONE WHO CARES ANYTHING ABOUT TRUTH OR FEELS AN OUNCE OF ECO-RESPONSIBILITY MUST SEE THIS FILM.
It reveals insidious acts on the part of auto companies and the US government so disgustingly corrupt by money that it literally made me nauseous. True, footage of genocide it was not, however, I can't help but feel that this film brings into focus a too-ignored, more-common flavor of the same evil.
Over the course of the film, my disgust was repeatedly prodded, briefly turning into a feeling of helplessness and hopelessness. By the end, however, my mounting anger had overcome that frame of mind. I was incensed, and I would have exited the theater yelling profanities into the night if it wasn't for the final words of the inventor of the NiMH battery, Stanford R. Ovshinsky. Unfortunately, I don't have the exact quote, but it was something to the effect of choosing to change the world with technology and innovation instead of with guns and force. Brilliant.
Go see the amazing documentary "Who Killed The Electric Car?" to hear the applause-inspiring quote and, more importantly, to become enlightened to the deliberate acts of greedy companies, including the US government, to delay a currently available life & planet-improving technological revolution because it would make it more difficult for them to charge people $3.25/gallon for gas.
