Review of Who Killed the Electric Car? (2006) by David B — 09 Jul 2009
In the blink of an eye, US automaking giant GM has fallen from leading innovation in its industry to receiving billions in bailouts. This movie focuses on the bad business practices that led to their current situation, which is a stark contrast to the fortunes that enabled the company's growth.
The film well illustrates the real reason for auto giant's decline has more to do with failure to market and less to do with import tariffs. Aside from GM's disregard for the energyu and environment, the only thing more shocking depicted in this film is the amount of reasources expended by GM to fight efficiency standards.
Highly recomended to those still believing that the "buy American cars no matter what" mantra still benefits working class American taxpayers.
