Review of Who Killed the Electric Car? (2006) by Pam P — 24 Jan 2010
There is interesting information in this documentary - even more so given the events in the car industry in the past year. It was a California board that spurred the development of the Toyota Prius because of a requirement they passed and later rescinded.
GM, also because of the CA board, could have been on the forefront of the hybrid/electric car movement, but instead decided to kill it and is now trying to dig itself out of bankruptcy. And Toyota looks like the innovative company.
This documentary does get repetitive, and I did get tired of seeing the same scenes over and over again. But being a devotee of another car GM killed, the Saab (900 series), I understood the passion of the EV drivers.
Wish I could driven one!
