Review of Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) by John H — 28 Aug 2011
Citing it as the best ever blend of animation and live action does this film a great disservice - it's one of the most inspired action comedies to come out of Hollywood. The film's universe is fully fleshed out and filled with convincing details, from The Dip to pattycake to the way humans and toons interact.
Roger is an inspired comic creation who belongs up with the great cartoon characters, and Hoskins as Eddie Valiant gives an incredible performance as the gumshoe annoyed but unfazed by all the craziness going on.
Zemeckis, working with genius animator Richard Williams, has created a hilarious, exciting, and visually stunning film that more than deserves its immense popularity.
