Review of Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) by Hardy H — 05 Jan 2012
A technically superb, groundbreaking film that features a perfect blending of animation and live-action with a good script and an original storyline combining elements of fantasy, noir and a slight sense of adult humour.
Although this may not have been the first movie in cinema history to combine animation and live-action together, it is the first one to do so in such a superbly seamless manner that it seems perfectly natural.
...And as an added bonus, the film also features lots of cameos from a host of classic cartoon characters from both Warner Bros. and Walt Disney's vaults. In my opinion, the groundbreaking technical achievement in this movie is in fact, "the Star" of this film and may have slightly overshadowed the film a bit.
Regardless of this fact, it still does not, in any way, take away from my enjoyment of this film at all. However, what does take away from my enjoyment of this film is the star cartoon character himself, Roger Rabbit.
...WHAT AN ANNOYING CARTOON CHARACTER!!!....My rating would have been higher if it weren't for that annoying rabbit. As a matter of fact, the movie would have been funnier if Roger had switched place with Baby Herman.
.....Rating: 8/10...... 8).
