Review of Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) by Jordan K — 19 Jan 2014
Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a cinematic masterpiece and one of my favorite animated movies of all time. It's jam packed with excellent acting, lovable characters, and an original plotline based on the book Who Censored Roger Rabbit. A must-see for sure.
The film, set in the late 1940s, centers around zany cartoon star Roger Rabbit, who has been framed for the murder of Marvin Acme. Roger claims he didn't do it and needs the help of no nonsense detective Eddie Valiant to help him find out who really killed Acme and to escape from the clutches of the vicious Judge Doom. What most men remember from this movie is the infamous wife of Roger, lounge singer Jessica Rabbit, known for her sex appeal.
This movie is superb and the acting is simply astounding. The way the actors pull off these emotions with characters who aren't really there is simply magnificent and they put every bit of effort into pulling this film off. It has one of the most original plots I've ever seen in a film where the real world and the world of cartoons combine together. A great film and one of the best animated features out there, a perfect film with not many flaws at all.
