Review of Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) by Farron K — 04 May 2014
Still a very solid movie, if predictable even years after you last saw it (invisible ink, srsly). Bob Hoskins in a career-defining role (hiding his very strong British accent no less) alongside animation that still holds up 26 years later.
I absolutely loved the smoothness of the production, exemplified in the scene where Jessica Rabbit seduces all the boys at the club with her act. I adore Film Noir detective stories, so it's a given that I would enjoy this.
My only issue is the same as it has always been with this film: the big boss guy at the end smacks too much of the Super Mario Bros. movie's Bowser. I guess that was the era for it though.
