Review of Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) by Tommy H — 19 Apr 2015
The Toons look like they belong to the world in the movie more than CGI does today. It actually has weight to it. Look at Jessica Rabbit when she's singing in the night club. The scene where she pinches the guys cheeks.
I mean, they look like cartoons and CGI does look significantly more real and detailed, but I'm talking about the contact between the Toons and the physical world. Amazing. I'm not a big fan of the story, though.
I give this four stars because of the illusion of actual contact. And because the animated short film at the beginning is without a doubt the funniest cartoon I've ever seen. I think it's called "Tummy Trouble.
