Review of Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) by Ben R — 22 Apr 2013
This movie works because it respects the genre that it pays homage to. It follows the same formula as old Hollywood detective movies, but with the twist of following the comedic formula of famous cartoons.
I never would have thought that you could combine the two. That's what makes this a masterpiece. Zemeckis did something that has never been done before and hasn't been done since. It's one of the most original, hilarious and oddly thrilling movies I've ever seen.
