Review of White Zombie (1932) by Brad V — 01 May 2010
Let me just say, the beginning of the film was the quintessential zombie blockbuster beginning. My mind took this intro to some serious heights (before I saw the rest of the movie, that is). In the early film style, the movie proceeded to fall short of the wonderful suspense that it created.
I would love to see what happened if Tarrantino made a version of this film. I am a man of action, and I like my zombie films like that too (full of action and gore). However, props to Lugosi, because he is a more terrifying individual than Osama and Saddam put together.
Holy macaroni, Lugosi.
