Review of White Squall (1996) by Jack G — 19 Aug 2008
Could've been corny and preachy, but Scott takes material that could've been with a couple of alterations made in the 50s or 60s (this kind of story I mean, not exactly the same since it's a true story) with Burt Lancaster or someone in the lead and makes it formidable and tough.
It's also an excellent character-ensemble, which is rare for Scott as he's more of a 'plot' guy with ensembles.
