Review of White Oleander (2002) by Bill M — 30 Nov 2011
I'm watching it right now (Nov 2011) on TV. I find the Hastings posted review terribly limited, in that it doesn't describe the film's events which reveal the emotional relationships and impacts of the maturing young Astrid.
Fifteen minutes from the end, and the viscerally honest heart-to-heart between Astrid and her jailed mom was just getting more intense! Not earthshaking filmmaking, but definitely not pablum. I'm enjoying it.
