Review of White Men Can't Jump (1992) by David B — 30 May 2008
I hadn't seen this since it first came out and just happened to watch it. I have to say I'm surprised by how good (and funny) it was. Snipes and Harrelson are hysterical - and believable. There are a couple of times when both actors sink baskets without a single edit.
Also, I'd love to know how much of the trash talk was scripted. My sense is that it was improv. In any case their chemistry is fantastic. They reminded me of Walter Matthau & Jack Lemmon. They're that good.
It's a shame that bad movie choices (& erratic personal lives) seem to have kept both of them from being bigger stars.
