Review of White Men Can't Jump (1992) by David S — 07 Aug 2013
White Men Can't Jump is a far cry from the usual sports film. It follows a man with almost nothing to lose and constantly builds his winnings and losses around his character. What makes this movie better than its relatives, is the character development and the relationships involved.
Without focusing on success, this movie really works on the buddy relationship as well as the male-female differences. Harrelson pulls off another stunning job and Snipes pulls off one of his best performances.
Although it has a couple plot-holes and nuances (as is expected of these 90s movies), it delivers and is somewhat entertaining. However, with all that's said, it is a very average movie with nothing extremely well done or stand-out-worthy.
