Review of White Lightning (1973) by Alex B — 21 Aug 2008
This is a good movie- the locations are dead-on authentic...I remember when the South looked like that. The story is ice cold (unusual for those of us used to Burt Reynolds in more light hearted fare).
The stand out acting performance (and there are quite a few good ones) is Ned Beatty as the Sheriff.... Beatty is often type-cast as a likable, bumbling type- but occasionally gets a chance to show his acting chops.
His Sherriff Connors is a cold psychopath under an affable cover...well done.
