Review of White House Down (2013) by James R — 29 Dec 2014
Man this movie was kinda shitty if I may say so. The White House comes under attack from terrorists seeking revenge, or are they looking for nukes, wait maybe they're there to get money....yeah it's all over the place.
Channing Tatum is the films hero who stars as Cale a sort of dead beat dad who wants to be in the Secret Service, but may not be cut out for the job. While touring the White House with his daughter Emily (Joey King) they are attacked and locked in the Presidential house.
President Sawyer (Jamie Foxx) teams up with Cale to get out of the house, rescues Cale's daughter and find out exactly whats happening. The movie has a lot of potential and I won't lie some of the action sequences are cool, but a lot of them are full of super fake looking CGI and a ton of bone headed moves.
On top of that President Sawyer is a total stereotype and even utters one of the corniest lines I've ever heard (hint: its about his shoes...ugh). Overall, this movie isn't even worth a rent just skip it!
