Review of White Frog (2013) by Eyal D — 28 Oct 2013
What it lacks in production values, WHITE FROG sure makes up for it in its compelling storyline. A rather touching LGBT entry, WHITE FROG features a likeable young cast in one of those after-school type-specials that could only have been made as an indie for the specialized festival circuit.
Tackling both Asperger's and coming out, the movie intelligently balances the story of two brothers and their special bond. The only low point, sadly, is a bizarrely unconvincing performance by B.
D. Wong as a dad incapable of coping with either sons' illness or homosexuality. Shame, because despite its low budget the film wears its heart on its sleeve and is certainly made as a labour of love from a deep and authentic place.
