Review of White Fang (1991) by Mark S — 01 Jun 2011
White Fang is a beautifully photographed movie that exhibits the alluring Alaskan wilderness during the Gold Rush. Nowadays, it would look amazing in IMAX. It's also commendable that real wolves, dogs, and bears were used in making the movie and it actually looks like they were put in perilous situations.
It would be so easy to animate Jack London's novel, but you care a little more for the story if it appears to happen with real people and animals. It's a bit of a slow story and the main character is a bit whiney, but White Fang is still an enjoyable film.
