Looking back at this, it seems a bit dated and cliqued but in 1982, this racial commentary might have been a little more scathing. still, fuller's films have a b movie grit to them that make even his more mediocre stuff worth watching.
also, this is the film that FINALLY got kristy mcnichol into the criterion collection. I dont see them releasing the pirate movie anytime soon.
