"White Boy Rick" serves up an interesting story but doesn't always execute it in the most fascinating way. Newcomer Richie Merritt was enjoyable to watch and I also thought Matthew McConaughey was very good.
The movie's main issue is that it drags in the less interesting moments and then rushes the most captivating aspects of this true story. I do feel the movie wraps up nicely with its third act and it does make its point loud and clear.
I feel the story could have made for a much better movie, but there are still aspects of the movie I enjoyed and that is particularly the performances and the final act. Overall, I don't think its a movie that you need to rush out and see but it is an okay one for a one time watch.
