Review of White Bird in a Blizzard (2014) by Esteban G — 03 Feb 2015
An unusual combination of a psychological thriller and a coming-of-age teen drama. Its negative aspects are ham-fisted and awkward moments and a plot-twist that comes completely out of left field in the final reel, seemingly just to top off a rather predictable narrative.
But Woodley carries the film from start to finish, being as watchable and convincing as ever. The supporting cast is also very good, and the film is shot diligently and often beautifully.
