Review of Whistle Down the Wind (1961) by Nicola C — 14 Jul 2008
With this film its easy to see why Haley Mills was such a huge child star of her time - she plays the role of Kathy with such conviction and like the other children in this film - no pretention. Despite its innocent premis this film has a darker undertone as the children are faced with realities such as death and betrayal.
The film is a joy to watch without the usual schmalz of such a movie.
