Review of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (2016) by Jacob T — 06 Mar 2016
Very proud this movie didn't even attempt to make a title drop. I actually don't even remember them putting the title up...
Either way, the movie was good!
I got another advanced screening today, and this time it's the first of many interesting movies to release in March.
So this film is a kinda war movie, but funnier, yet just as violent. Essentially 13 Hours if it had a good time and focused on a female reporter.
Makes up for Focus last year, which Glenn and John also did. No major 55 moment here, (thank you), but at least we had a coherent narrative. Although both Focus and this have wacky timelines/time-skips.
Fey and crew were great all around. Margot Robbie on her nonstop trip through Hollywood. (See her this August in Suicide Squad, and probably something else a few months later.).
I think the laughs to feels ratio was pretty good, and just about everyone should go see this.
It's even based on a true story!
Even you don't like war related films, it's definitely worth checking out, as it kickstarts the beginning of the next great year in movies. I think all I can say now is... WTF!
