Review of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (2016) by Dave R — 15 Jun 2016
A reasonably funny film that attempts to provide commentary on war reporting, and only partially succeeds. Mostly predictable and sometimes rushed as far as the plot is concerned, it nonetheless does contain enough humour to amuse, and enough tension to keep things interesting.
The actors all have reasonable chemistry. The soundtrack is a bit out of place -- I swear most of the music is mid-late 90s, not the mid 00s where this is set -- but I liked it. As a way to pass the time it's entertaining enough, but don't expect any great insights into war reporting or the Afghan war in general.
