Review of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (2016) by Jono M — 01 Jun 2016
I didn't mind Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. It might've been helped by my own low expectations, but even still, it was pretty enjoyable. Tina Fey was given a chance to do a bit of dramatic acting mixed in with her usual comedy, which was a nice change.
Martin Freeman was probably best on ground. He had a lot of funny lines and had plenty of likeability, even though he was a bit of a tool at times. The movie started off quite light, but transitioned into slightly darker territory as it went on.
And yeah, there were certainly a few dumb moments, but overall, the good stuff managed to outweigh them.
