Review of Whiplash (2014) by Raji K — 09 Aug 2015
Miles Miller is Andrew Neyman who is a drummer at one of the top music schools in the country. He aspires to be one of the best in the country as he inspired by other jazz greats such as Charlie Parker.
He comes across a tough teacher in Terence Fletcher (JK Simmons) who does nothing, but test and push him to the limits. Whiplash is an excellent film based on drive, great performance and is backed up by an excellent soundtrack.
Anyone with a goal and ambition can relate to some of the strife and hard work that is required to get what one wants even if it is not drumming and Whiplash encapsulates this.
