Do you see all the adjectives on the film poster like "Exhilarating," "Astounding" and "Electrifying"? Well, they aren't lying. This is 100 times the film anything with Jurassic in it's title will ever be.
Why can't films like this be the year's number one box office sensation? Probably because people like you look at the synopsis and say "meh". Please don't. Please see this film. It will not waste your time.
