Ultimately not believable. Fletcher (the teacher) is basically a sadist not a perfectionist. In any reputable school of the the last several decades he would have lasted about one week. Our hero (Andrew) is to be pitied not glorified. A talented but sick puppy.
Having said all that, much of the movie is watchable and I made it to the quasi-feel good ending.
Worth a try but don't buy in to all the hype.
